This modern timber framed house was extended and reconfigured to meet the needs of a large active family, and the interior completely redesigned in a relaxed coastal style.

A bike and board shed was added at the rear of the garage with an outdoor shower tucked behind, allowing the family to clean off before entering the house via a large utility-boot room with bespoke sailing kit storage. The new side extension also houses a home office overlooking the back garden, and was clad to blend seamlessly with the existing building.

An inviting living area was added to the open plan kitchen-dining room, with a log burner, exposed brick wall and a pocket door that slides away into the bookcase to reveal the office beyond. The rest of the ground floor was divided into a large family room and a separate grown up snug with bespoke bookcases and reading nook.

The top two floors were re portioned into six generous bedrooms, four bathrooms and a second office. In the attic bedrooms stacked Velux windows were slotted between the roof trusses flooding the rooms with light and giving views over the newly landscaped garden.
